..null makes instrumental hip-hop the way a record collector makes mixtapes — patient, particular, built one chopped bar at a time. The toolkit is old: an MPC, a turntable, a stack of jazz 45s and soul rarities. The lineage is honest about itself — Nujabes for the chord work, DJ Krush for the rhythm, Dilla for the swing, Onra for the international crate-dig. Scratch hooks act as choruses. Field recordings of trains, rain, vending machines push the air around the beat. There are no vocals to hide behind, so every loop has to do real work. Built for the long walk between the station and bed.

Going for

The aim is the patient end of beat-tape culture — instrumental hip-hop that holds up at album length, not just on a Bandcamp drop. ..null wants the record that sits next to Nujabes and Endtroducing in the crate, where the scratching is musical, the samples are obscure on purpose, and every track has a small architectural reason for existing. Long-term: a body of work studied by other producers and lived in by everyone else.
