Privacy Policy
Last updated: 16 July 2026
1. Who we are
surfersfresh.com (the “Site”) is operated by Surfers Fresh (“Surfers Fresh”, “we”, “us”), an independent music label based on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia.
This policy explains what information we collect when you visit the Site or interact with our content on third-party platforms (including our YouTube channel, @SurfersFresh), and how we use, share, and protect that information. We handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you give us
The Site is a static promotional website. We do not run user accounts, login forms, comment systems, or contact forms on the Site itself. If you choose to email us at the addresses listed in this policy, we receive the contents of that email plus standard email headers (your name and email address).
2.2 Information collected automatically
Our web host records standard request logs when your browser loads a page. These logs include your IP address, the page requested, the date and time of the request, your user agent (browser type and version), and the referring page. We use these logs only to diagnose technical problems, detect abuse, and produce aggregate traffic statistics. Logs are retained for up to 90 days and are not used to build profiles of individual visitors.
2.3 Cookies and similar technologies
The Site does not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
We do not embed Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any
similar third-party analytics on the Site. Some pages embed
YouTube videos using the privacy-enhanced
youtube-nocookie.com domain where possible. Embedded
YouTube players may still set cookies under Google’s control
once you press play — see section 4.
3. How we use information
We use the limited information we collect to:
- operate, maintain, and secure the Site;
- diagnose technical issues and detect abuse;
- respond to enquiries you send us by email;
- comply with our legal and regulatory obligations.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use personal information for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
4. YouTube API Services and Google data
Surfers Fresh uses YouTube API Services to publish music videos, manage playlists, and read public channel and video metadata for our own YouTube channel (@SurfersFresh). We do not use YouTube API Services to access information about end-user accounts other than our own studio operator account.
Embedded YouTube players on the Site, and any interaction you have with our YouTube channel, are governed by:
When you watch an embedded video, Google may collect information such as your IP address, watch history, and device identifiers under those policies. You can review and control the data Google holds about you, including data collected via YouTube, through the Google security settings dashboard.
To request that data we hold about you obtained through YouTube API Services be removed, email [email protected]. We will action verified requests within 30 days. To revoke Surfers Fresh’s access to any Google data you previously authorised, visit Google’s third-party app access page.
5. Disclosure to third parties
We disclose limited information to the following categories of recipients:
- Hosting and infrastructure providers who store the Site and process incoming requests on our behalf;
- Stock-media platforms (Pexels, Pixabay) from which we license visual assets — these platforms only receive standard API request metadata, not your personal information;
- Google LLC in connection with our use of YouTube API Services and embedded YouTube players, governed by Google’s Privacy Policy linked above;
- Law-enforcement and regulators where we are required by law to disclose information.
We do not transfer personal information outside Australia other than as incidental to using the third-party services listed above, each of which provides services from infrastructure located in multiple jurisdictions.
6. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect information we hold against misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification, and disclosure. The Site is served over HTTPS. Access to administrative tooling and API credentials is restricted to authorised studio personnel and stored in secret-management systems.
7. Children
The Site is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we hold such information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Your rights
Under the Australian Privacy Principles you have the right to:
- request access to personal information we hold about you;
- request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information;
- request deletion of personal information we no longer need;
- complain about how we handle your personal information.
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of the page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be notified via a notice on the Site for at least 30 days following the change.
